She's been with numerous top media organizations worldwide. It was a long time in the Washington Post. The Washington Post covering football and basketball as well as multiple Olympics and Grand Slam Tennis. Nichols started a nine-year period at ESPN in which she won the two Emmy Awards, and featured in a variety of ESPN's most popular programs, including NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. In addition, Nichols was a sideline journalist for the Monday Night Football broadcasts. After leaving ESPN, her next stop was CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. It was watched by millions of viewers from all over the globe. Nichols also reported for TNT on NBA broadcasts during playoffs, as well as the broadcasts for the All-Star game. Apart from reporting for TBS, she also covered broadcasts of golf and baseball as well as the Final Four on CBS. Only a woman has been chosen from more than 200 nominees over the 42-year old history of this award.
