Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be one of the most outstanding gymnasts. The 2016 Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro and Biles became the U.S.'s first female gymnast ever to earn 4 gold medals. Biles also took home the world title for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles was raised in Spring Texas, in the Houston metro area. Biles and her sister Adria were adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone's love for gymnastics first began at the age of six, during a trip with her group of daycare children to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained under Aimee Borman as coach until 2011. Biles, who won gold and bronze medals at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 in floor and vault before making her debut in 2011 in the elite division of gymnastics competition. In less than two years, she was the most dominant athlete in the field. What stood Biles apart was the consistency of her flamboyant attitude and the high degree of difficulty she incorporated into her workout routines for every event - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercises.
