Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017, after she signed with Warner Bros Records. The album reached 3rd place on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles, including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked song New Rules which peaked at number six within the United States. Lipa's album, which has now been certified Platinum in various countries across the world has won the two Brit Awards (in the year 2018) for British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough artist. Dua Lipa was born London on August 22 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian origin. It is also possible to trace her family tree back to Peja in Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. There are two sisters, Rina Gjin and Gjin. Lipa learned to play the guitar and sing from her father Oda. Oda is the leader singer/guitarist for Kosovan's band Oda. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music which featured his compositions as well as songs like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of was just five years old. At the age of nineteen, she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School.
